I'm looking to go geode hunting this spring, and was wondering if anyone knows where (IF) in Alberta/BC I can find them? Possibly the Wells Gray volcanic area? Any info would be great since online web-stories are vague, and there are no direct websites with solid facts about that area.
Thank~you!
Taralee - Get in touch with the Alberta Lapidary Society (sorry I only have the address for BC.) I was planning a trip to Alberta to visit my daughter (put off now) and investigated rocks there - lots of sedimentary stuff, glacial till in the rivers (including gold and some diamonds) and selenite crystals. Of course the Provincial stone is fossilized ammonite but you aren't likely to find that laying around for the taking. There are rock and mineral clubs - one for sure in Calgary. They must go somewhere to collect... Paulette
