Hey Keith, a location where it was found, size of specimen and a hardness test would greatly help in identifying.. Photos are the least accurate way to identify a mineral.. Note I said mineral? How do you know its a gemstone if you don't know what it is??

Found in norther BC,Canada around 55 parallel. I know its a gem stone as of the hardness is over six and can not be scratched with a knife. There has been no other mineral like it found in that area. A few people thought it is Jade. The way it has formed tells me different. Look up Amazonite. It is the closest i could find to what it may be. Thanks for your reply.
